Heins is a true Bielefeld original — 100% Westphalian. That’s why you might stumble upon some terms or room names that are new to you. Keep your eyes peeled!

This text uses Bielefelder Mundart, a regional dialect from Bielefeld, Germany, known for its playful and humorous expressions. To help you understand, we have included the original German terms in parentheses, so you can appreciate the flavor of the language:

Don’t worry—nothing here is “inne Dutten” (a mess), and you’re certainly not “bregenklöterig” (scatterbrained). You’re also not likely to feel “rammdösig” (dazed) or “knülle” (worn out) while reading this. Heins is absolutely “inne Fissen” (on top of things) and just wants to give you a little something to laugh about (“beömmelt euch” = have a laugh). There’s already enough “Gedönsräte” (naysayers) out there grumbling (“rumnölen”) and taking life way too seriously.
